I've been putting in the work this year. Sometimes it all falls apart!

Yeah get on the range before playing when you are that bad.

  2. BakerHasHisKitchen

Not saying there’s anyone waiting behind you, but I’d never let it go past 10 before I pick up anyways. That hole was a lost cause lol

  3. Filming while taking 30 minutes to finish a hole…

  4. Cody-Fakename

Did you subscribe to the Riggs backswing tutorial on YouTube?

  5. majorservicekit

Keep grinding bro, but that super flat inside takeaway you got going isn’t doing you any favors

  6. TheTrueBComp

Who is the intended target audience for the content?

  7. ASOG_Recruiter

Bro put the driver back in the bag. Just get the 5 or 7 iron out and tee off from there. Par is not for you.

  8. Outside_Ad4436

This confirms to me that I’m not ready to get back on the course. I just started hitting it straight off the mats at the range again and it’s giving me false security to hit the course.

  9. I feel like I am getting worse at golf just watching this

  10. Sorethumbsfifa

At least you look sharp playing military golf

  11. TwitchyShrimp

You’re lifting your head among other things. Your job is to keep your eye on the ball at impact. The other people in your group, will watch where it goes. Also, take a few lessons. I did and they’re more than worth it.

Not a golf pro but your grip is insanely weak. The back of your left hand on your driver should be at the very least pointing to the sky if not just further back.

  13. cam_huskers

Not to be a dick, but you’re absolutely too slow to be bringing a tri pod and camera onto the course with you. No one wants to watch you chunk shot after shot. Not everyone needs to be a content creator.

  14. Since when did this sub get so douchey? You have no idea if this guy was holding up the course behind him or not.

Yall are telling me you grinded on the range and took lessons and didn’t even touch a golf course until you were an 18 handicap? Yall are insufferable

  15. TheRealGunn

Just my opinion, but you gain nothing from this.

In following all the rules, you’re just breaking another rule. (Maximum strokes)

You may be thinking “I’ll get better faster by playing by all the rules and being honest”, but you won’t.

You’re at the phase of the game where simply striking the ball period is an issue. The place for you to get better is on the range. You’re not far enough along that course management or the other skills that require playing by the rules even matter yet.

Cool if you just did one hole to show what it’s like for newbies if they follow all the rules, but for God’s sake don’t play this way.

  16. Good on you for keeping an honest score. It will only make you better in the long run. I have friends that picked up golf and never even carded over 100….. thats just not possible, no matter who you are. It’s pathetic honestly that they believe some of their scores

  17. Next time drop from where the 1st drive entered the penalty area, not the tee box. This would have saved you a ton of strokes

OPs thoughts for their driver stance

  19. wavedood87

How does this dude still putt better than me lol

  20. WoodenEducator3614

Very painful to watch so glad I’m not playing behind you

  21. tracksuitaficionado

If you notice, your best struck shot in this video is the SW, which was the only club you didn’t swing the shit out of. I say this as someone who still somewhat has the same issue, you’d probably be better off if you swing all of your irons around that speed or slightly faster. Sure, you’ll lose distance, but hitting a 130 yard shot straight is definitely better than hitting a 3 yard shot 40 yards across the fairway or hitting 4 inches behind the ball.

  22. pigbearwolfguy

I’m not a phenomenal golfer but I believe your swing plane is much too low.

Try make it feel more like you’re bringing your grip up and over your head.

  23. The dirty secret of golf is that it’s mostly hand eye coordination. At a higher level you can work on your mechanics, but at first you just need to hit 10,000 golf balls to get better contact on a constant basis. Get to the point where you always hit the ball in the air and in the direction of the target.

  24. WWGHIAFTC

At 50 seconds mark, you relaxed, slowed down, and stopped trying so hard and got a nice little chip shot in. Do that with all of your swings.

Let the club make the ball go further, not by swinging harder.

Driver, get feet shoulder with, not the hard power stance. relax. Stop swinging so hard. You’re entire body is stiff. Get that relaxed stance that you had on the chip shot. Get the ball up in line with your leading heel – not the middle of your stance. You’re trying so hard to make power on your backswing that everything else falls apart.

    Don’t listen to a word I say, I suck.

  25. dubious311

Relax your arms and have no tension. Slow your tempo way down.

  26. Next-Performer-5846

Ah and once again I realize why I don’t frequent this sub. A lot of you in here are fucking tools.

  27. twistedvisions13

I feel your pain….I just started playing too.

  28. Don’t worry, next round you’ll play a brilliant hole. Then, you’ll suck again and try to recapture that glory. Then you fall into the cycle where you chase the dragon of being a good golfer. One of us.

  29. Playbook420

It can be a rough start. Keep on hitting the range

  30. Me when that 10th or 11th shot gets into the air and makes it to the green:

  31. Brother, I respect the grind, but focus on putting the ball in play consistently before worrying about playing an “honest round”

  32. ashtraybullet

That little pitch shot was nice. That’s what keeps you coming back. That one shot in thirteen.
